Andrew Tripp has been appointed chairman of the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII), the trade association which represents the interests of specialist health insurance brokers.
Tripp has been a member of the AMII executive committee since March 2007, most recently serving as AMII's treasurer, and is currently chief executive of Perfect Health. He succeeds Mike Izzard, who has been AMII's chairman for the last two years.
Izzard also steps down from the executive committee having been a member since March 2006, including serving as AMII's secretary and treasurer.
Other AMII changes include the appointment of two new committee members, Lindsey Joseph of LEBC Corporate Healthcare Solutions and Hazel Gregory of Medical Insurance Services. Debbie Kleiner-Gaines of Best Health UK has become treasurer; and Paula Aitken of The Private Health Partnership has now taken on the joint role of secretary/membership secretary.
In addition, Simplyhealth's Mike Wagg joins the executive committee for a two-year period as the insurer representative.
Wendy Maxwell of Premier Choice Healthcare has stepped down as secretary, Claire Ginnelly of Groupama Healthcare has stepped down from the role of insurer representative after completing her two year term, and Wayne Pontin from Jelf Wellbeing Ltd has stepped down as an executive committee member after completing his three-year term of office.
