Bupa appoints group medical director

Bupa has appointed Dr Paul Zollinger-Read as its new group medical director.

He succeeds Dr Andrew Vallance-Owen who has retired after 17 years with Bupa.

Dr Zollinger-Read joins Bupa from NHS Midlands and East Strategic Health Authority, where he is director of commissioning development. He is also medical adviser and primary care lead for healthcare think tank The King’s Fund. Previously, he was the chief executive of five primary care trusts, and a practising GP for over 20 years.
