New hire aims to deepen relationships with wealth management advisers

PruProtect, the life insurance and serious illness cover provider, has appointed Kevin Watkins to the newly created role of head of wealth protection.

Watkins has held a succession of senior and board level positions over a 30-year career with Friends Provident (now Friends Life), culminating in three years as director of UK individual business.

In his new role at PruProtect he will help wealth management advisers incorporate protection into their sales processes.

PruProtect said it now has a new team of 20 business consultants specifically recruited from wealth and investment backgrounds to develop its relationships with wealth management intermediaries in the UK.
