Royal London appoints group finance & strategy director

Former Scottish Widows' FD to head up finances at parent company of Bright Grey and Scot Prov

Royal London, the parent company of Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, has appointed Kerr Luscombe to the role of group finance & strategy director.

Luscombe joined Royal London in October 2011 as group strategy director. In his new role he will have responsibility for Royal London's finance and actuarial teams as well as the strategy team.

Prior to joining Royal London, he held a number of finance director roles in the UK life assurance sector, most recently at Scottish Widows and Clerical Medical. He has been a qualified actuary for over 20 years.

Luscombe will succeed Stephen Shone who is stepping down as finance director at the end of December.

Shone, who has been finance director of Royal London for 14 years, will continue to lead to conclusion the group's acquisition of the Co-operative Banking Group's life insurance and asset management businesses before leaving the business fully.

Luscombe's appointment takes effect from 1 January 2013.
