Insurer claims app is a first for the protection industry

Legal & General has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first dedicated protection app for iPhones and iPads.

Advisers will be able to use the app to access “real time” protection quotes, marketing messages and product and pricing information.

The app also has a tools section that enables pre-selection of options to make the quote process tailored, simple and quick. It also features links to the Legal & General websites that give access to product information and literature as well as to an adviser’s contacts list to set up clients interested in protection and calendar to enable advisers to book appointments.

Alison Manning, head of product development for individual protection at Legal & General, said the insurer hopes advisers will help it with future developments for the app such as interactive sales aids.
